Metrosideros collina 'little dugald' This is a brilliant new plant that has been introduced and is related to the NZ Xmas Bush. It is a very successful hybrid that was developed from crossing two other successful Metrosideros varieties - Springfire and Fiji Fire. This bushy compact shrub will suit garden areas in full sun with free-draining soil and will tolerate salt wind and light frost. The plant has glossy evergreen foliage and the bird-attracting flowers can cover much of the bush for many months. Little Dugald can stand alone as a garden or poolside shrub, but can also be trimmed into a formal hedge or used as an easily maintained pot plant |
